|Phyllis Marie Blubaugh Adams left this earth on April 4, 2009. She was 82.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10, in the chapel of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Blaine Herron, minister of the Foursquare Gospel Church, officiating.
Phyllis was born in Tonkawa on June 21, 1926, and was the first infant baptized in the newly completed St. Joseph's Church. Her parents were Ben and Vera Blubaugh.
She was raised in Tonkawa and married John Quincy Adams of Lamont on Aug. 4, 1946. After Quincy graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1948, Phyllis and Quincy moved to Los Angeles, Calif.
Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping, traveling and crafts. She was very active in her children's school and social activities. She and Quincy continued to take trips with their local Elks group up until 2000, when they returned to Oklahoma. Quincy passed away in 2002. Phyllis continued to travel and took regular trips to Laughlin, Nev.
She is survived by her two children, Spencer Adams and Linda Silvy, both of Ponca City; and three grandsons, Kevin Adams and wife Rufa of San Francisco, Calif., Kyle Adams and wife Kelle, and their four children, Kristen, Lacey, Michael and Alex, all of Ponca City, and Tyler Silvy and fiancée, Rose Eslick of Stillwater. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Humphries of Tonkawa and Jeanie Ray of Henderson, Nev.; and her brother, Ronnie Blubaugh of Tonkawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Daniel Blubaugh who was killed in Korea in 1952.
The family will be at Linda's, 2513 Oriole and Spencer's, 440 S. Osage.
