There have been times that I have put my headphones on and listened to Green Day, zoning out, as I would immerse myself in my art.   After these sessions, I would remove my headphones and have throbbing in my ears.   These are the times that I feel older than I think I am as you could classify some music as noise that you would not necessarily do as a youth.  

Green Day nor their lead singer / guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong's other bands, punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder, garage rock band Foxboro Hot Tubs, new wave group The Network, I consider noise but there are those that do.   Hopefully I will never become someone to call any band noisy but I might turn down the volume.
